These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and STEM For The Future ("we," "us," or "our"), a nonprofit organization operating in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
By accessing our website at stemforthefuture.com, registering for any program, submitting any form, or otherwise interacting with our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you are registering a child for our programs, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of that child and have the authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.
2. Our Services
STEM For The Future provides free, community-based STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education programs for children and youth aged 6–18 in Calgary, Alberta. Our services include:
- In-person STEM workshops, camps, and drop-in sessions
- Digital literacy workshops and computer skills training
- Family STEM Night events
- Library Learning Series sessions
- Online registration and information through our website
- Communication via email and phone regarding program participation
All programs are offered free of charge. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any program at any time, though we will make reasonable efforts to communicate changes to registered participants.
3. Eligibility
Our programs are open to children and youth aged 6–18 residing in or near Calgary, Alberta. Participation is subject to availability and program-specific requirements.
To register a child, a parent or legal guardian (18 years or older) must complete the registration process. By submitting a registration, you confirm that:
- You are the parent or legal guardian of the child being registered
- All information provided is accurate and complete
- You consent to your child's participation in the program described
- You authorize STEM For The Future to use photos or videos taken at events for nonprofit promotional purposes, unless you opt out in writing
4. User Responsibilities
When using our website or participating in our programs, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- Ensure your child attends scheduled sessions or provides adequate notice of cancellation
- Treat staff, volunteers, and other participants with respect
- Not use our website for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
- Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of our website or systems
- Not submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Not reproduce, distribute, or exploit any content from our website for commercial purposes without written permission

We reserve the right to remove any participant from a program if their behaviour, or the behaviour of their parent or guardian, is disruptive, harmful, or violates our Code of Conduct.

All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, images, program materials, curriculum content, videos, and the website design — is the property of STEM For The Future or its content creators and is protected by applicable Canadian copyright and intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and view website content for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute any website content without prior written consent
- Modify or create derivative works based on our content
- Use our name, logo, or branding in any way that implies endorsement or affiliation without permission
- Scrape, data-mine, or systematically extract content from our website

While we take all reasonable precautions to ensure participant safety, participation in any physical activity involves inherent risk. STEM For The Future is not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage arising from program participation unless caused by our gross negligence.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, STEM For The Future, its directors, officers, volunteers, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

- Any matter relating to your child's participation in our programs beyond what is covered by our insurance
Because STEM For The Future is a nonprofit providing free services, our total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed CAD $100.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless STEM For The Future and its volunteers, staff, directors, and partners from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your breach of these Terms
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
- Any false or inaccurate information you provide to us
- Your child's wilful misconduct during program participation
11. Modifications to These Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered families by email.
Your continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with updated Terms, discontinue use of our services and notify us at info@stemforthefuture.com.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to our website or programs at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe:
- Violates these Terms or any applicable law
- Is harmful to other participants, volunteers, or staff
- Is fraudulent or involves misrepresentation
You may withdraw from any program at any time by notifying us at programs@stemforthefuture.com. Sections 5, 8, 9, 10, and 13 survive termination.
13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to the courts of Alberta, Canada, and you hereby consent to their exclusive jurisdiction.
