Started by a Student.
Built by a Community.
We believe every young person deserves access to meaningful STEM education — regardless of background, ability, or postal code.
"We're not just teaching STEM — we're changing how young people see themselves."
Sophia Davies — Founder, STEM For The FutureBuilt Different, on Purpose
We built something different — and families across Calgary feel it.
Always Free
No registration fees, no supply costs, no hidden charges. Every program is fully funded by community partners and donors so cost is never a barrier.
Community-Driven
Our programs are designed and delivered by trained university student volunteers and community mentors — people who genuinely care, not corporate instructors following a script.
Curriculum-Aligned
Every session is developed in alignment with Alberta's K–12 curriculum outcomes. Students don't just have fun — they reinforce and expand what they're already learning in school.
Inclusive by Design
We actively recruit from underserved and newcomer communities because the most important STEM minds in Calgary's future may be the ones who've never had access before.
More Than Lessons.
A Path Forward.
At STEM for the Future, we empower students through hands-on, mentor-supported programs that connect learning to real impact. Through initiatives like Service Through Skills, students apply their interests in graphic design, web development, research, data analysis, and media to meaningful community projects.
For students seeking deeper technical challenges, programs like our Capstone FRC Robotics Team and STEM Web Development Classes offer real-world problem solving, teamwork, and leadership experience.
Across all our programs, students build tangible skills, confidence, and a sense of belonging — because the future needs innovators who feel like they belong in it.

What Makes Us Different
What makes STEM for the Future different is that we meet students and volunteers exactly where they are. Whether someone is just beginning their STEM journey or looking to grow advanced skills, we create learning pathways that are flexible, supportive, and hands-on. Students and volunteers learn by doing — contributing to real projects, developing practical skills, and gaining experience that truly matters.
We believe growth comes from meaningful opportunity. Through hands-on STEM work, service-based learning, and mentorship, participants are trusted with real responsibility while being supported every step of the way.
Our commitment to impact extends beyond our programs. STEM for the Future has donated over $1,500 CAD in robotics kits to the Winnipeg School Board, helping expand access to hands-on STEM learning for students who may not otherwise have these resources.
